PVDF syringe filters are mainly used to filter aqueous solutions. They are the lowest protein adsorption among syringe filters. Please use this filter to filter protein solutions.
PVDF filter membranes are hydrophobic, with pore sizes of 0.1μm, 0.22μm, 0.45μm, 0.65μm, 1.0μm, 3.0μm, 5.0μm. As the pore size of the membrane decreases, the binding of the membrane to low molecular weight proteins is stronger.
PVDF membrane has an excellent heat resistance and chemical stability. It is not corroded by acids, alkalis, strong oxidants, and halogens at room temperature, and is stable to organic solvents such as aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, and aldehydes.
Hawach supplies syringe filters of hydrophobic PVDF and hydrophilic PVDF syringe filters. This hydrophobic PVDF can be used for the filtration of gases and organic solutions and is not resistant to acetone, DMF, and DMSO.
